Virtual Tree & Menorah Lighting- November 29, 2020 – Covid Style

Winterfest was cancelled due to Covid but we held a Virtual Tree & Menorah Lighting – November 29, 2020.

The whole Morton Family got in on the act. Performances by Mallory and Tyson Morton.  Santa was Michael Morton and the entire family, including Tuere and youngest son Mason, did the honors of lighting up our tree and menorah.

March 2020:   Beautification was looking forward to the Spring and Summer of 2020 but then the pandemic happened.

Our Annual Luncheon has been cancelled, which supports so much of what we do, so we are reaching out to our friends and community.   Please read the Covid edition link below and find out how you can help us.

COVID edition

Hanging Baskets will be going up all over the Main Street area with donations that will hopefully come in.  They really define the beginning of summer in Bay Shore, going up in time for Memorial Day, sans parade.  We believe in our community and hope you will join with us to make sure our downtown is ready to welcome back people when it is safe again to gather – our local businesses have supported so many organizations Over the years and we want them to flourish.

We welcome new members- Membership & Sponsorship and hope to see new volunteers as we venture into a new world with Covid.

You can always donate with ease:

Venmo: [email protected]

Paypal:  PayPal.me/BSBeautification

CURRENT PROGRAMS

SpruceUp Bay Shore-Brightwaters in back hopefully for The Fall, depending on the pandemic.

The Street Garden Program will hopefully be underway, and gardens around town will be selected for the attractiveness they add to our street fronts. Look for photos of the winning gardens displayed in the library showcase. Winners also receive a copy of the photo. Recommend your garden for this honor—it just has to be a garden, small or large, that can be seen from the street. Send your name and address by mail or to our email – [email protected]   and identify which part of your property should be considered

Veterans from the Beacon House will be hired to weed and clean our downtown area from June through October. Beautification has funded this program for many years and it is a pleasure to see our streets litter and weed free. Do you remember when it wasn’t???
